The Central Electricity Authority’s September 2025 status report records 2,000 MW as the park’s approved capacity and 2,050 MW as the commissioned capacity. It also records 12,937 acres of acquired land and completed internal and external transmission infrastructure.
The Government of India has reported that the 2,050 MW park became operational in December 2019 and generates around 4.5 billion units of electricity annually.
3. Ananthapuramu Ultra Mega Solar Park, Andhra Pradesh – 1,400 MW commissioned
Ananthapuramu Ultra Mega Solar Park is located in Andhra Pradesh. Although the park was originally approved for 1,500 MW, the CEA’s September 2025 report notes that 100 MW was canceled, leaving 1,400 MW commissioned. The park spans 5,845.84 acres.

Dholera Solar Park, Gujarat
Dholera Solar Park is another major project in Gujarat. The CEA’s September 2025 status report records 1,000 MW for Phase I, of which 300 MW had been commissioned. The remaining capacity was under development and subject to project and transmission progress.
This corrects the common claim that Dholera already has 5,000 MW operational or under active commissioning. Gujarat government documents have referred to a 5,000 MW Dholera Ultra Mega Solar Park plan, but the CEA’s more recent project-status data records the current Phase-I development separately.

The expansion of large solar parks is part of a much broader increase in India’s solar capacity. India’s installed solar capacity reached 162.15 GW as of 30 June 2026, up from just 2.82 GW in 2013-14, a roughly 57-fold increase. For developers, this model can reduce the need to establish separate infrastructure for every project. For the grid, dedicated transmission arrangements help move electricity from resource-rich regions towards demand centers. The CEA’s solar-park status report shows that, as of September 2025, 41,137 MW of solar park and UMREPP capacity had been envisaged, with 13,054 MW commissioned, 15,181 MW under construction and 12,902 MW under award or tendering.
